Leriglitazone is a PPAR-gamma agonist and metabolite of the glitazone pioglitazone. It is an active metabolite of pioglitazone, and a selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) agonist that crosses the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
