Noribogaine, also known as O-desmethylibogaine or 12-hydroxyibogamine, is the principal psychoactive metabolite of the oneirogen ibogaine. It may be involved in the potential antiaddictive effects of ibogaine and ibogaine-containing plant extracts, such as Tabernanthe iboga.
